Bag and pad sessions
Tell your coach whether your sessions focus on the heavy bag, partner-held pads or a mix of drills. Choose a model and weight accepted for that session, then check that you can form a comfortable fist with your wraps on.

Booster Fightstore × Fight.nlFIGHT.NL BUYING ADVICE
Start with what you do in the gym. Then narrow down the construction, weight and fit before you choose a colour.

Tell your coach whether your sessions focus on the heavy bag, partner-held pads or a mix of drills. Choose a model and weight accepted for that session, then check that you can form a comfortable fist with your wraps on.
Ask about sparring glove requirements before buying. Your gym may specify a glove weight or construction for partner work. A glove being labelled “training” does not by itself confirm that your coach accepts it for sparring.
If a class combines pads, bag work and partner exercises, ask whether one pair can cover the session or whether your gym expects separate gloves. Check shin guards independently if kicking drills are part of your class.
Oz describes glove weight, rather than a universal hand size. Two different models in the same oz weight can feel different inside. Do not choose only from your height, colour preference or the weight worn by a training partner.
| Your question | What to check |
|---|---|
| Which oz should I buy? | Start with your coach’s requirements for your session; then consult the Booster beginner weight guide. |
| Will a higher oz fit a larger hand? | Do not assume it will. Try the specific model with your wraps; hand compartment shape varies. |
| Can I use the same gloves for bags and sparring? | Ask your coach. Keep the condition of any gloves used for partner work under review. |
| What about children? | Use a dedicated youth model and its own size information. Adult guidance is not a youth fitting chart. |
Make a fist and check whether your fingers sit naturally. Compare both hands using the wraps you actually train in.
Check the thumb position and fasten the wrist closure. The glove should feel secure without forcing your hand into an uncomfortable position.
Open and close your hand and make a few slow movements. If you cannot judge the fit, get help from the Fight.nl team or your coach before training.
Alpha is listed as an option for novice fighters. Bangkok adds a synthetic model to compare, while BGL V3 offers a leather construction. These are different starting points, not a universal ranking of the best glove for every person.
